Parents and Players,

Welcome to the Colorado North Stars 2008-2009 season.  Our program is committed to developing your athlete's volleyball skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and understanding of the game.  The following will answer your questions concerning the program, tryouts, coaching staff, and finances.

Teams will be created in the following age groups:

                        18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12

Adjustments will be made according to tryout numbers in each group.

Age Divisions:

-      18 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1990

-      17 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1991

-      16 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1992

-      15 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1993

-      14 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1994

-      13 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1995

-      12 and under:  Players born on or after 9/1/1996

Coaching Staff:

Colorado North Stars is excited about the 2008-2009 season and the involvement of quality coaches and staff.  In an effort to provide a high quality of coaching, we invited back certain staff members from last year and added a few new coaches this year.  As a result, we believe this year's staff will be able to take us to the next level.  Our coaches are required to pass a background check, and will be involved in coaching clinics throughout the season to improve all aspects of their performance.

Financial Information 2008-2009:

Fees:

Age Group 12-13                  $ 1100

Age Group 14-18                  $ 1300

All players are required to purchase a uniform package.  The package includes 2 jerseys,   warm up suit, and a sports bag.  Additional uniform pieces as well as miscellaneous items will be available for purchase.

Base fees include:

• USAV costs:  Player, coach, team, and club registration
• Officiating and scorekeeping clinics
• Friendship Tournament
• Seeding Tournament
• Power Tournaments
• RMR Showdown in Greeley
• Colorado Crossroads Tournament
• Regional Tournament
• Equipment
• Coaching salaries
• Practice facilities

** Base fees DO include Crossroads.**

** Base fees do not include travel costs to in-state tournaments.  We will do our best to keep travel costs as low as possible.

Payment Schedule:

A commitment to play is a commitment to pay the entire fee.  All late payments will be assessed a $25 late fee.  Payments 7 days past due will be considered delinquent and the player will not be allowed to participate in any team function until the account is brought current. 

Team meetings are scheduled for the week after tryouts.  This will be an opportunity for players and parents to meet and speak with the coach.  Uniforms will be ordered and fundraising will be introduced. 

Fundraising:

We will be offering several fundraising programs to help defray the cost of your athlete's fees and travel expenses.
